PROFESSIONALLY TUNED, AUTHENTIC TRINIDADIAN STEEL PANS

FRONTLINE PANS

The section of instrument on which the melody in the treble clef is played.

These steel pans include high tenors, low tenors ( both of which are sometimes

referred to as tenor pans, lead pans or first pans ) and double tenors.

HIGH TENOR

A steelpan with a range of notes between D4 to F#6

 

LOW TENOR

A steelpan with a range of notes between C4 to E6

 

DOUBLE TENOR

A steelpan with a range of notes between F3 to B5

 

SECOND PAN

The musical section which usually plays the supporting harmony.

These instruments can also double the melodic line

DOUBLE SECOND

A pair of steelpans together with a range of notes falling

between F#3 to C#6

GUITAR PANS

The section of instruments on which the chords are played.

The name is derived from the strumming effect which is similar to that of a guitar

DOUBLE GUITAR

A pair of steelpans together with a range of notes

falling between C#3 to G#4

CELLO PANS

The musical section of pans which usually plays the supporting harmony in the bass staff.

It can also be used to double the melody played by frontline pans and is used extensively for counter melodies

TRIPLE CELLO

A set of three (3) steel pans with a range of notes falling

between B2 and Bb4

FOUR CELLO

A set of four (4) steel pans with a range of notes falling

between Bb2 to C#5

QUADRAPHONIC

A set of four (4) steel pans with a range of notes between B2 to Bb5.

These steel pans reinforce the melody of the frontline pans and can

also be used in the harmony of the arrangement.

BASS PANS

The section of instrument on which the melody and harmonic lines are played with

emphasis on the root of the chord

SIX BASS (painted)

A group of six (6) steel pans with a range of notes between A1 to D3
